چکیده

The centrality dependence of (multi-)strange hadron abundances is studied for Pb(158AGeV)Pb reactions and compared to p(158GeV)Pb collisions. The microscopic transport model UrQMD is used for this analysis. The predicted Λ/π−, Ξ−/π− and Ω−/π− ratios are enhanced due to rescattering in central Pb-Pb collisions as compared to peripheral Pb-Pb or p-Pb collisions. However, the enhancement is substantially smaller than observed experimentally. The enhancement depends strongly on the kinematical cuts. The maximum enhancement is predicted around midrapidity. Modeling Magnetic Field in Heavy ion Collisions Using Two Different Nuclear Charge Density Distributions

By studying the properties of matter during heavy-ion collisions, a better understanding of the Quark-Gluon plasma is possible. One of the main areas of this study is the calculation of the magnetic field, particularly how the values of conductivity affects this field and how the field strength changes with proper time. In matching the theoretical calculations with results obtained in lab, two diffe...

STAR Results on Strangeness Production at RHIC energies

Strangeness measurement at RHIC energies constitutes one of the favorite theme of the STAR Collaboration. Besides the fact that strangeness enhancement has been proposed as a quark gluon plasma signature, its production provides various and relevant information about the collision evolution and especially on the hadronization process. The investigation of short-lived strange particles as well a...

We discuss how the dynamics of the evolving hot fireball of quark–gluon matter impacts phase transition between the deconfined and confined state of matter. The rapid expansion of the fireball of deconfined matter created in heavy ion collisions facilitates formation of an over-saturated strange quark phase space. The related excess abundance of strangeness is compensating the suppression of th...

Dense , Strongly - Interacting Matter : Strangeness in Heavy - Ion Reactions 1 - 10 A GeV

This talk reviews the physics of dense, strongly interacting matter. The newly acquired experimental data on strangeness production in heavy-ion reactions from 1-10 AGeV is used to probe the physics of in-medium properties of matter, multi-body collisions, and the search for the baryon-rich quark-gluon plasma.

Quark Number Susceptibilities & The Wróblewski Parameter

The Wróblewski parameter is a convenient indicator of strangeness production and can be employed to monitor a signal of quark-gluon plasma production : enhancement of strangeness production. It has been shown to be about a factor two higher in heavy ion collisions than in hadronic collisions. Using a method proposed by us earlier, we obtained lattice QCD results for the Wróblewski parameter fro...
